Papua New Guinea

In 2011, my father and me made an extraordinary trip into the largely unknown Papua New Guinea, which mostly attracts attention by the terrifying stories of cannibalistic natives in the press.

The 4-week journey took us from the beautiful coastline with wonderful reefs around the Tufi region to the Simbari Valley , also called ” the valley hidden by clouds ,” further to the Bismarck Sea with heavenly beaches and volcanic islands and finally along the longest of all the rivers in Papua New Guinea, the Sepik River.

The trip was organized by an Australian, who never before could assamble such an individual and complex journey into his familiar country. No other travel agency set onself this complicated task!

„Papua New Guinea – Land of the unexpected“ is a captivating documentary in a country which counts in its traditional and bio-diversity to the eldest of all countries.

Nominated for the Camgaroo Award 2013.
